DJ
& MC Marsss
This month's interview of the month
is MC Marsss. Marsss is one of the best party MCs
and DJs in Sydney with his very cool sense of humour.
1. How long have you been
in Australia and when did you start your latin profession?
I’ve been a citizen of the best country in
the world for over 23 years… Started entertaining
in 1985. Been a Latino all my life.
2. What inspired you to do
what you do in this country?
I’ve always loved all types of music and clubbing…it
seemed like a natural progression.
3.
What has been the proudest moment in your career?
Playing in front of crowds of 10,000+ while I was
doing the “Rave” circuit in London and
Manchester.
4. Is this your full time
profession? If not what else do you do?
This takes up about half of my working time, the
rest I spend on the TV show (En ViVO – Channel
31 - Mondays at 11pm and Saturdays at 5.30 PM. free
to air community channel), as well as producing
music for various Dance groups and Latin Dance instructors
around Sydney.
5. What's your favourite phrase
or motto?
“Live and let live”
6. Which is your favourite
band or artist?
I can’t say I have a favourite… but
I like those artists who truly entertain, the ones
with staying power, not really into one hit wonders
or those fabricated by marketing machines.
7.
If you had three wishes to be granted, what would they
be?
three more wishes, ten more wishes, a hundred more
wishes and so on…
8. What are your likes and
dislikes?
I get a buzz out of hearing people enjoy what I
do, be it when I’m hosting an event or when
I play music… I don’t like situations
where people that cannot handle their alcohol ruin
the atmosphere by starting fights or simply creating
tension in a club or an important event, Latin or
otherwise.
9. What would you like
to see more or less of in the Australian Latin scene?
A little less conversation a little more action…
10. Do you have a message
for all the latin lovers out there?
Thank you all for supporting what we do, be it in
the club scene or through other mediums, ie. Television
or Radio, A lot of people work very hard to keep
the Latin Vive at the level that it has reached,
and thanks to that support we can only get better,
and of course, keep up to date with what’s
going on by adding “The Latin Voice.com”
to your “Favourites” folder!!!
SEE YOU ALL OUT THERE!!!
