that was once played at the end of the 70’s
and beginnings of the 80’s, where each band
had their own sound, and each musician’s
way to perform was what gave each song its own
“spice”.
All members
in Son de Tikizia are professional musicians and
master different music styles (classic jazz and
popular music). Furthermore, the group is known
for its explosive nature in each of its performances,
where each instrument’s “Cuban moñas”
and “solos” give life to the true
meaning of live music.

Since
forming in the Bronx back in 1994, Aventura have
earned numerous Grammy nominations and plenty
of Billboard awards, and have often topped the
Latin charts with their unique mix of traditional
Dominican bachata and sleek, Top 40-oriented R&B.
This CD/DVD set collects 14 of the group's greatest
hits along with their accompanying videos, including
"Hermanita," "Ella y Yo,"
"El Perdedor," and "Su
Veneno."
14
+ 14 is an exciting compilation of Aventura s
best songs in audio and studio video. The record
allows us to trace the group s history, commencing
with Cuando volveras, the fi rst Aventura song
to make waves on radio, through El malo, produced
in 2010. Though the initial videos, Obsesion and
Cuando volveras were produced on a shoestring
budget compared to those released since 2005,
these early efforts ooze with freshness and creativity.
The boys are tender and young and it was already
obvious they were going to hit big some day. 14
+ 14 is an opportunity to watch the group s videos
in chronological order from beginning to end and
to feel a part of the real Aventura experience!
About
Aventura
Aventura is a Bachata music group from The Bronx,
New York, United States. Aventura was formed in
1994 by Anthony Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos
and Max Santos, three of whom are natives of The
Bronx and one born in the Dominican Republic.
Self-taught and determined, Aventura made their
big break in 1999, with the hopes of breaking
bachata music out from its traditional base and
fuse it with modern popular sounds like hip hop
and R&B. Aventura was the second musical performer
to completely sell out Madison Square Garden in
New York City in 2011.

About
Vallenato
Vallenato is a popular folk music of Colombia.
It primarily comes from the Colombia's Caribbean
region. Vallenato literally means "born in
the valley". The valley influencing this
name is located between the Sierra Nevada de Santa
Marta and the Serranía de Perijá
in northeast Colombia. The name also applies to
the people from the city where this genre originated:
Valledupar. In 2006 Vallenato and Cumbia were
added as a category in the Latin Grammy Awards.

GENRE:BACHATA

'Prince
Royce'
Every
so often an artist or group comes along that redefines
bachata. Monchy y Alexandra, Aventura, Xtreme,
and now Prince Royce. While his debut album is
only 10 tracks deep, it's amazing from start to
finish
Xtreme has
more of an R&B edge to their music, whereas
Royce adds some pop and R&B flavor both to
his songs. This Bronx Dominicano writes all of
his own lyrics, and the music production is as
perfect as a plate of abuelita's mofongo. Even
though his Spanglish cover of "Stand By Me"
was the chart-topper, I think the rest of his
tracks are even more amazing.
If songs like
Hoja en Blanco moved you, Royce's "Mi Ultima
Carta" will have the same impact. The standout
track on the album for me is the love-is-blind
themed "Corazon Sin Cara", a throwback
to Anthony Santos singing Obsesion on the smash
2002 Aventura album. I also predict that Rechazame
is destined to become a club favorite. If you
dig songs like "Tempted to Touch" by
Rupee, then the album's English tracks like "Crazy"
will appeal to you.
Prince Royce
is the debut studio album by American recording
artist Prince Royce. In the United States, the
album was a commercial success. It debuted at
number sixteen on the Billboard Latin Albums chart
and eventually reached number one on both the
US Billboard Tropical Albums and Latin Albums
charts. By late March 2011, Prince Royce was certified
2x platinum by the Recording Industry Association
of America (RIAA). The first two singles from
the album, "Stand by Me" and "Corazón
Sin Cara", were a commercial success in the
United States, both topping the Billboard Tropical
Songs chart. "Corazón Sin Cara"
charted and peaked at number one on the Billboard
Latin Songs chart while "Stand by Me"
reached the top ten
It's almost
impossible to listen to this CD without dancing.
If you love Bachata as much as I do, treat yourself

'LOVE?'
Love
is the seventh studio album by American recording
artist and actress Jennifer Lopez. Conceived during
the pregnancy of her twins Emme and Max, Love?
is Lopez's most personal album to date, taking
inspiration from the birth of her twins and her
own experiences with love. Recording for the album
began in 2009, with an original release date for
the project set for January 2010 to coincide with
Lopez's latest film The Back-up Plan
Recording
for the album began in 2009, with an original
release date for the project set for January 2010
to coincide with Lopez’s latest film “The
Back-up Plan”. However following the lack
of success with lead single “Louboutins”,
Lopez and Sony Music Entertainment decided to
end their ten year partnership leaving the fate
of Love? in uncertainty. In 2010, Lopez signed
a new record deal with Island Def Jam, which saw
the release of “Love?” on April 29,
2011.
The theme of the album is examining, questioning
and exploring the many different sides and avenues
of love and relationships. J.Lo explores the world
of the dance floor and infectious hooks. There
is a nice range of “styles”, beats,
vocals, and compositions on this album to satisfy
all her fans.

Ricky
Martin’s “Música + Alma + Sexo”
(“Music + Soul + Sex”), his first
studio album since 2005) and is a milestone of
sorts in his career. It’s his first batch
of original songs since publicly declaring he
was gay last year.
That doesn’t mean MAS is a barrage of free-to-be
statements. The bilingual disc does have its moments
of revelation, but they are (wisely) mixed in
with other themes. Martin sticks mostly to what
he does best: making hips move and hearts soar.
The video
clip for the album’s first single in English,
a lilting duet with Joss Stone called “The
Best Thing About Me Is You,” shows Mr. Martin
pulling a gag off his mouth, then juxtaposes him
with gay and straight couples with equal signs
painted on their chests. The album also includes
“Será Será” (“It
Will Be, It Will Be”), which promises those
who feel “unequal, condemned, marginalized
without mercy” that “the future now
is yours,” and “Basta Ya” (“Enough”),
which vows to stop “denying what I want”
and decides, “I’ll be true to myself.”
In “No Te Miento” (“I’m
Not a Liar”) he insists that despite accusations
and judgments, “With you I’ll lead
an open life.” Yet Mr. Martin is a pop star
before he’s a crusader, and he’s clearly
determined to reach a wide audience, both Spanish-
and English-speaking. The sentiments in his new
songs are open ended enough to double as self-affirmations
for anyone feeling like an outsider. He’s
still a gutsy, emotive singer, and the music strives
to be up to the minute.
About
Ricky Martin
Ricky
Martin (born Enrique Martín Morales on
December 24, 1971) is a Puerto Rican pop singer
and actor who achieved prominence, first as
a member of the Latin boy band Menudo, then
as a solo artist since 1991.
During his career he has sold more than 60 million
albums worldwide. He is the founder of Ricky
Martin Foundation (in Spanish Fundación
Ricky Martin), a non-profit charity organization.
Ricky Martin's exuberant 1999 single "Livin'
la Vida Loca" made him a prominent figure
of Latin dance-pop. Martin got his start with
the all-boy pop group Menudo; after five years
with the group, he released his Spanish-language
solo album, Ricky Martin, in 1991. He also acted
on stage and on TV in Mexico, becoming a modest
star there. In 1994 he starred on the American
TV soap opera General Hospital, playing a Puerto
Rican singer. In 1999, after several albums
in Spanish, he released his first English-language
album (also titled Ricky Martin), which included
the Salsa-style "Livin' la Vida Loca".
The album sold 17 million copies and brought
Martin international fame. His other albums
include A Medio Vivir (1995), Vuelve (1998),
Sound Loaded (2000, with the hit "She Bangs"),
Life (2005), and the compilation album Ricky
Martin 17 (2008).
On the edge of the new millennium, Martin—almost
by himself—gave Latino music an international
face.

Pitbull’s
Spanish-language album Armando arrived four years
after it was originally promised, but it’s
so cool, loose, natural, and cohesive, it feels
like it came together over one hot Miami summer.
After the forced moments of his 2009 album, Rebelution,
that’s a very good thing. This well-built
effort retains that album’s love of club-worthy,
pop-rap singles (here, it’s the good-timing,
Lil Jon team-up “Watagatapitusberry”
and the instant floor-filler “Bon, Bon”)
and then adds casual, secondary material that
plays up the man’s charismatic sense of
humor (check out the minimal stunner “Amorosa”
or how “Mujeres” messes with the Beastie
Boys classic “Girls”). Highlights
“Maldito Alcohol” and “Esta
Noche” are somewhere in between while his
modern take on the Cuban classic “Guantanamera”
is an unusual mix of respectful and cocky. It
all works splendidly, and in the end, the album
Pitbull named after his father ends up one of
his best, language barrier or not.
About
Pitbull
Armando
Christian Pérez (born 1981), better known
by his stage name Pitbull, is a Cuban-American
recording artist. His first recorded performance
was from the Lil Jon album Kings of Crunk in
2002, after which he released his debut album
in 2004 titled M.I.A.M.I. (short for Money Is
a Major Issue) under TVT Records. Since then,
he has released two other albums under the label,
El Mariel in 2006 and The Boatlift in 2007.
He is also the host of his own Spanish-language
program on the cable channel Mun2 titled La
Esquina (Spanish for The Corner)
Pérez
was born to first-generation Cuban immigrant
parents who made him recite the works of poet
José Martí. He was also influenced
and the Miami bass genre of hip hop music.
Pitbull explained the reason behind choosing
his stage name, saying that the dog "bite[s]
to lock. The dog is too stupid to lose. And
they're outlawed in Dade County. They're basically
everything that I am. It's been a constant fight.
After meeting Lil Jon in Miami, Pitbull was
featured on Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz'
album Kings of Crunk in 2002. Pitbull's song
"Oye" was featured on the soundtrack
to the film 2 Fast 2 Furious the following year.
In addition, Pitbull also released several mixtapes,
composed of freestyles and remixes of popular
rap music.
